# Remove Umami Tracking

Releases ship without the Umami script, proxy and configuration. Only the `data-umami-event` attributes and the analytics text of the privacy policy remain. The attributes do nothing without Umami, so removing them is optional cleanup; the privacy policy must match what you actually track. It follows the [shared removal loop](https://www.vuesion.dev/docs/removal/shared-removal-loop).

## Entry points

- Layouts: `src/app/layouts/docs.vue`, `src/app/layouts/marketing.vue` and the blog layout, if it still exists (attributes on the Storybook, Figma and pricing links in the top navigation; the blog and marketing layouts also in the mobile navigation).
- Marketing components, if they still exist: `src/app/components/marketing/HeroSection/HeroSection.vue`, `src/app/components/marketing/MonetizationSection/MonetizationSection.vue`, `src/app/components/marketing/ConversionSection/ConversionSection.vue`, `src/app/components/marketing/NextStepsSection/NextStepsSection.vue` (attributes `data-umami-event`, `data-umami-event-*`).
- Privacy policy: `src/app/pages/privacy-policy/index.vue`.

## Not found by the compiler

- Attributes: delete every `data-umami-event` and `data-umami-event-*` attribute in the files above. In `NextStepsSection.vue` also remove the `:data-umami-event="tile.trackingEvent"` binding, the optional `trackingEvent` field of the tile type and the three `trackingEvent` values (`pricing_opened`, `storybook_opened`, `figma_opened`). Specs and stories need no change. Search the repository for `data-umami-event` and `trackingEvent` to find leftovers.
- Privacy policy (your responsibility; Vuesion provides no legal advice): in `src/app/pages/privacy-policy/index.vue`, remove the section "Website Analytics" (`pages.security.privacy-policy.analytics.title`, `.description`, `.details`, `.disclaimer`) and the processor list item "Umami (Privacy-focused website analytics)" (`pages.security.privacy-policy.p6.list.5`). Also adjust the wording of `pages.security.privacy-policy.p4.disclaimer` ("Our website analytics does not use cookies.") and `pages.security.privacy-policy.p8.list.2` (legal basis naming web fonts and website analytics). The released text states that the visitor's IP address is transmitted to Umami: adjust it instead if you track with another service.
- i18n: the extractor never removes keys. Delete the five removed keys by hand (`analytics.title`, `.description`, `.details`, `.disclaimer` and `p6.list.5`) from `en-US.json` and `de-DE.json` in `i18n/locales`. Edit, do not delete, the two adjusted keys in both files.
- Other guides: this guide leaves the marketing sections and layout in place; the marketing guide removes them. The privacy policy page itself stays.

## Coding-agent prompt

> Read this guide and the shared removal loop. Delete every entry point of this guide, handle every item under "Not found by the compiler", and run the loop until lint, test and build pass.
